Matrics linked to KZN school vandalism will write exams

At least ten of the 34 learners who were arrested last week for attacking teachers, and for vandalism at Eastwood Secondary School in Pietermaritzburg, will sit for their matric exams.

The KZN Education Department intervened after some parents of the learners expressed concern about their children missing exams.

Department Spokesperson, Muzi Mahlambi says a court agreed to move their case to the 14 of December.

“The department negotiated with the prosecutor. We facilitated that they will not be disturbed in their writing,” he says.
